Barbara A. Taylor, MS, CCC-SLP, is an ASHA Certified & Maryland licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and IAOM Certified Orofacial Myologist. She founded Help Me Speak, LLC in 1998, with sessions first in clients’ homes, then in her home office, and then in 2008 in her Marriottsville clinic location.

Barbara has 26 years of clinical experience working in a variety of settings including the Kennedy Krieger Institute, a Rehabilitation Hospital, Outpatient, Home Health, Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Regional Early Childhood Centers, Early Intervention, Elementary Schools, and Private Practice.

Barbara works with with children of all ages to adults, including infants who have difficulty breastfeeding, sucking, and swallowing.

Any of these clients may have Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (e.g. mouth breathing, atypical oral resting posture, open mouth posture, tongue thrust, thumb/digit sucking), Tongue Tie, Feeding, Picky Eating, Oral Swallowing, Dyspraxia/Apraxia (Motor Speech Disorders), Tongue Thrust, Craniofacial Abnormalities, Down syndrome, and Speech Sound Disorders (Articulation).

In addition, Barbara is trained in the ALF (Advance Light Force appliance), Voice Gym, Beckman Deep Tissue Release, Myofascial release, level 2 PROMPT (PROMPTs for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) trained, Talk Tools, Kaufman techniques, Food Chaining, & the Sequential Oral Sensory approach to feeding.

Barbara has received 10 ASHA Awards for Continuing Education (70 or more hours of continuing education within a 3 year period).

Help Me Speak, LLC accepts BCBS, Pediatric Medicaid, Kaiser, & private pay.
