Joni Grey Loftin


Joni has been practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist since 1986, entering the realm of Orofacial Myology in 2008. She has been a Certified Orofacial Myologist since 2012. She is a Clinical Professor and Associate Chair of Communication Sciences & Disorders at Idaho State University. She teaches a 3-credit graduate Orofacial Myology course in the Speech-Language Pathology Program, which includes interprofessional learning events with Dental Hygiene students, and a half-day summer workshop for Dental Hygiene Master’s students. Joni has served as chair of the IAOM Education Committee and as a repeat member on the IAOM poster convention committee, and has been an invited speaker at various national, regional, and local SLP and dental conferences. Joni experienced oromyofacial therapy firsthand, and collaborates with a team who truly understands OMDs, the role of breathing and sleep in our overall health, and the need to educate others.
