Sandra holds speech therapy and education degrees with an MS in Health Sciences from the University of Northern Colorado. She has had a successful multi-office practice in the Denver Metro-Area specializing in Orofacial Myology for 50 years. Sandra is a Clinical Professor of Orofacial Myology for the University of Behavioral Health Sciences, an online University offering a Certified Orofacial Myology Specialist credential. She is a past-President of the International Association of Orofacial Myology and is a Certified Life Member. She has been Chairman of their ethics committee and has served in many capacities on their Advisory Board. She is an Advisory Board member of Heritage College, Senior Lecturer at the Coulson Institute of Orofacial Myology which she opened in 2003 and where she teaches Dental Hygienists, Speech Pathologists and other professionals who want to specialize in this field. She lectures and teaches Internationally.
Sandra was recently named Strategic Business Development Advisor for TONGUE LAB, developer of the TRP, a Paris-based company dealing with snoring and sleep apnea.
Sandra works full-time providing therapy in her Orofacial Myology practice in Denver, Colorado, where she sees patients for tongue thrust, thumb, finger and pacifier habit cessation, individuals with Down syndrome, patients who have facial pain and TMJ dysfunction, children and adults with cerebral palsy, stroke, Bell’s palsy, trichotillomania and mild snoring and sleep apnea as they relate to tongue posture, and she specializes in denture retention and ankyloglossia.
Sandra is a member of the University of Colorado and National Asthma Research Center Sleep Study groups, IATP, AAPMD, IFUNA (the International Functional Association) where she is a Research Board and Association Board member, and the International Oral Motor Institute where she is also a Board member. She is also a long-term member of the National Association of Female Executives and the International Essential Tremor Association and has published articles on Orofacial Myology and Trichotillomania.
