Corinne Jarvis MS SLP

BreatheWorks/SpeechWorks
Born and raised in Vermont, educated and practiced in Oregon and New York City, Corinne brings a wealth of experience throughout her practice. After studying under the some of the best practitioners in Oregon (SLP, OT, Developmental Pediatrics, MD), she opened her own practice in NYC in 2006, serving adults, children and their families in-home, utilizing her expertise in identifying and treating Orofacial Myofunctional disorders (abnormal lip, jaw or tongue position during rest, swallowing or speech), sensory motor feeding therapy, and extensive fellowship training in autism parent training and treatment. Corinne continued to study fluency (stuttering) treatment and hone in her skills with articulation and receptive and expressive language treatment as she returned to the west coast, treating families in home and in office throughout Multnomah and Clackamas counties.

When time and family permitted she contracted into school settings for urgent short term placements in severe behavior classrooms as well as general education settings. Corinne’s career took a turn to educating and training graduate student clinicians and speech language pathology fellows through clinical supervisor roles. She served as an adjunct supervisor at Pacific University mentoring graduate clinicians at a private school for homeless children, feeding her passion for this population. In addition to speech pathology she uses Craniosacral Therapy (CST) as a tool to get to the route of some more structural and physiological disorders. Corinne and her husband have 3 children (2 teenagers now!) that have expedited her understanding of the importance in the role of development, health, engagement and overall communication.
