Kari is a registered speech and language pathologist and has been practicing oral myofunctional therapy in her boutique clinic since 2006.
Since 1990, Kari has worked in the field of speech and language pathology. Her private practice focuses on sucking habit elimination, oral rest posture therapy, tongue thrust swallow correction, speech sound disorders and language delays. Kari believes in an interdisciplinary approach. She routinely collaborates with pediatric dentists, orthodontists, oral surgeons, public health speech and language pathologists, and other professionals to provide uniquely designed, client-focused programs. Pederson Speech Pathology Services is located in SW Edmonton.
In addition to maintaining her membership with the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM), she is a member in good standing with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA), and the Alberta Speech-Language Association of Private Practitioners (ASAPP). She is also a member of the Academy of Applied Myofunctional Sciences (AAMS) and the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT). She has also attended several Symposiums of the International Association of Facial Growth Guidance (IAFGG). Kari was on the Convention Planning Committee for the 2014 IAOM National Convention in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
